Asbestos Before Work Or Demolition Diagnosis
A toxic material that breaks down into an infinite number of fibers invisible to the naked eye, asbestos is present in many structures, such as buildings and single-family homes whose building permits were issued before July 1, 1997.
It is for this reason that before carrying out renovation/rehabilitation or demolition work, the owner or lessor is obliged to carry out a specific asbestos diagnosis in order to protect the people who will carry out the work and the occupants of the property from exposure risks.

What is the the purpose of the diagnosis before work or demolition?
Within the framework of works such as a wall to be knocked down, replacement of an old tiling, sanding of walls or ceilings or also demolition works, it is a question of carrying out a specific identification which consists in identifying the materials of the lists A, B and completed by those of the list C. The search for these materials is carried out by taking samples which can be destructive and/or by dismantling.
Only a certified asbestos diagnostician is authorized to carry out this specific diagnosis. The diagnosticians of Best Diag Immo are certified and competent to carry out these specific missions.
Identification of materials
The goal is to identify and locate all C-list materials. Elevators, elevators, industrial equipment, lost formwork, boilers, piping, ovens, generators (…) are also checked.
The samples taken are sent to a laboratory and the analysis reports are attached to the DTA (Asbestos Technical Diagnosis).
In all cases, each asbestos search, i.e. detection of asbestos and control of its state of conservation if necessary, is oriented on one or more lists of materials and products containing asbestos appearing in the Public Health Code.
Can the asbestos diagnosis before sale replace it?
Absolutely not! because the sale asbestos diagnosis only search the materials of the A and B list and not those of the list C.
What is the risk if the asbestos diagnosis is not carried out before work?
In case of non-compliance with the regulatory framework, this can lead to a stop of the works but also to consequent penal sanctions if there is danger to life
